But as a small business owner, you can't do that to your clients/ customers! We are here to facilitate a transaction. The 21st century is very different place: it isn't enough to have quality but to be a creative relationship builder. If any business owner takes a customer personally that is death to the business. I like this turnaround of events to a productive action I can do. It also speaks volumes to how I hire the team I want to work with! Michelle: keep this "in my humble opinion" track going...every business needs to understand this: anticipate need and delight the folks who buy your stuff take a look at the other business who do this too (see above examples-Big companies do this too: Google and Zappos), so stop making excuses because really when we get down to it, there are no transactions without relationships!
