March 11, 2010

On Monday, November 5th, The Sassy Ladies showed their support of small business at the We Mean Business Expo, in Lincoln, RI.  A joint partnership of the Rhode Island Secretary of State's office and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, this first-time event was packed with hundreds of small business owners looking for assistance from government agencies, non-profits, and small business advisors as exhibitors.  We interviewed many of these experts throughout the day, and asked them to share some tips for our online audience.  Now you can hear their best advice for your business!   Hear the "Ask the Expert" interviews. While Wendy and I ran around the show floor lining up interviews and "producing" our podcast from the (quiet?) lounge area, Miriam stayed back at the booth, meeting with many women business owners - some launched their businesses right at the event!  It was great to connect with so many creative and energetic business people in one place. We look forward to keeping in touch via our newsletter, and heairng your stories as you start and grow your businesses. You go, girls!Miriam, Michelle & Wendy at the Sassy boothMiriam, Michelle, Nancy Faella, State Treasurer Frank Caprio, and Wendy.  Nancy is one of the people we interviewed at the Expo - she is trying to start a business importing Columbian coffee cubes, called Violet's Products.  We enjoyed chatting about search engines and websites with Mr. Caprio.  (See his at http://www.capriotv.com/)  It was great to see so many state officials there supporting small business!

Much love and gratitude to Eva Gregory, for joining our call today.  She shared her own story of experiencing business success by applying the principles of the Law of Attraction. If you missed the call the first time around, you can now  listen to the audio file at your leisure ! Some of the lessons learned: * With the Law of Attraction, the emphasis is on your emotion. What you put your focus on is what you will attract.  Ask yourself, "Am I moving towards what I want, or against where I want to be?" Emotional guidance is the litmus test for how you’re doing in your business . If it feels good, do more of it, if it doesn't, stop doing it.

Practical ideas for how women can use The Law of Attraction for their business :

- “ Amp it up! ” use The Law for everything in your life, not just for more sales or one aspect of the business.

- " Start with the end in mind" – be clear on your vision. If you could have your business be any way you wanted it, what would it look like? How much fun are you having? What does your ideal customer look like? - Go back to the “essence” of your business. This will create the momentum to lead you to success.

- You don’t need to know the HOW -  Don’t get stuck trying to figure it all out. Ask questions like, ”How EASY I stand it? and “How GOOD I stand it? Let the Universe do the hard work of figuring it all out.

On deciding to go to a business event: does it feel good? If not - if you’re dreading it - don’t go, or shift your energy. Ask “what if this was the most empowering hour I ever spent on my business? What if I met the key people who were going to launch my business to the top?” Change your energy around the event until it feels good to go.

Eva's Keys to Success:

- Be passionate about what you...
