Many people in Rhode Island have asked me if “the Sassy Ladies were still together” (as if we were rock stars that disbanded when Wendy moved to the West Coast). I’m always surprised when I hear this, and assure them that we indeed are still together. I suppose that in contrast to our 2009 book tour, this year we were much less “present” to the local audiences who were used to seeing us out and about at networking events and conferences. We all took on big projects in our other businesses, which included two new start-up companies, Fresh, LLC (me) and Point Forward, LLC (Wendy and her husband, Will) and some major freelance writing projects for Miriam. When I start to look back on 2010, I couldn’t help but recall this video that I created for Wendy when she moved last January:
As predicted, 2010 WAS a great year for TSL. In addition to nurturing our four (!) other businesses, we accomplished some behind the scenes work for The Sassy Ladies, too, including:
- moving our website to this new WordPress-based platform,
- expanding our BlogTalk Radio show to include twice monthly podcasts,
- and creating a new 8-week business planning book club, which will launch this January.
Miriam took the reins on two marketing campaigns to the Women’s Business Centers and home-party companies, in pursuit of case sales of our books. The checks still arrive monthly from our publisher, which we are so thankful for. We also introduced a new sponsorship program, to bring quality, trusted brands to our growing community of women entrepreneurs.
And, we suspect the best is yet to come. You see, we are chronic dreamers here at The Sassy Ladies, and we enjoy working together to bring you quality content and partners that help to support YOUR dreams – in business and in life.
