Book Signing at Barnes and Noble

So many of you have been asking us how the book launch is going, and we’re happy to report it has been a whirlwind of great press coverage and blog activity.  We thought we’d share some of the links with you (below) and take a moment to thank all the folks who have helped to generate the excitement (and, ehem, book sales!)

First, the press coverage:

Aspire Magazine
June/July issue, page 10. Special thanks to editor Linda Joy for her ongoing support. (See Aspire’s new blog, including our Sassy Ladies’ Business column.)

Entrepreneur.com Blog: Top Shelf Reading Picks – Thanks to Kathleen and Diane for putting our book on the top shelf!

And we also had articles in the New England Business Bulletin and Providence Business News’, “CWE Success Stories” in the special ‘SBA Week’ insert. While these are not online, we appreciate the coverage in our homeground.

Our virtual Book Tour coverage included reviews on these sites:

All in a Mom’s Life – This one was a tear-jerker. Special thanks to Kirsten for her very personal experience with the book.

Joyful Money Savings – Thanks to Joy for her review on this giveaway blog. Let us know if your mom starts her business or not!

Lipsticking – Yvonne DiVita turned this one hour phone interview into a three-part series, covering many different parts of the book, complete with photos. She is a top-notch blogger!

World Blog Archive – Thanks to “Simply Stacie” for this review:  “I enjoyed reading this book and devoured it in a matter of two evenings. It’s an easy read written in plain English so the information provided is easily understood. It’s also quite funny and the authors wit and humor comes through in the book making it very enjoyable to read.”

Blog Talk Radio Shows:

A few quotes that made us smile:

Kirsten, from All in a Mom’s Life “…The book incorporates exercises and resources into each chapter. The first chapter {also known as my “Aha!” chapter is about your business dream. Now, when I started to read this book I wasn’t thinking about starting my own business. I just knew that I was ready for a major change in my life. My job was {and is} making me miserable. I realized in the first chapter that I wanted {needed} to make a living doing something I enjoy doing. I deserve that much. The Sassy Ladies’ Toolkit for Start-up Businesses also helped me figure out what I wanted out of a career and what I was willing to sacrifice. My happiness {and sanity} and being there for my daughter are very important to me. If you have a business…or this review made any part of you go “Hmm…maybe,” then I think you owe it to yourself to check this book out.”

From Kendahl, Stepmom Extraordinaire: “Being an owner of a small business myself, this book was SO great for me! It teaches a lot about the basics of running your own company, and what needs to be done to succeed. At the end of each of the chapters, you get a place to write down your thoughts, things you learned, or whatever! I really, really like this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone else out there who currently has or is thinking about starting their own business.”

From Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, of KBK Connections “As a successful entrepreneur for over 15 years, I too enjoyed the book. It both confirmed what I had done to build my business as well as gave me new ideas and insights for doing some things differently going forward. I wish this had been around when I started…it is truly inspirational!”

From Amazon.com customer review, Lilli Spencer: “If you are considering starting your own business, this should be the first book you read. As I go through the process of building my new business, I continue to refer back to this book. By far, this is one of the best resources out there for new entrepreneurs!”
